Fixing alignment issues with Craftmaster Series
Fixing alignment issues with Craftmaster Series
Solution
Below please find some "tips" to assist customers who advise they are having alignment problems:
1. Double check that the nylon washers (parts U for the Original CraftMaster and T for the CraftMaster II) are correctly positioned between the tilt mechanism and the upper leg frames on each side.
2. Double check also that the left tilt mechanism is attached to the left side frame and the right tilt mechanism is attached to the right side frame. If correctly attached, the elongated "tabs" on the end of each tilt mechanism will face inward.
3. If the above steps do not solve the alignment problem, loosen the bolts that hold all the crossbars in place. This includes the footrest crossbar, the back crossbar, and the 2 upper crossbars. By loosening all the crossbars, the entire table frame becomes flexible. This gives plenty of "play" to the structure.
4. Attach the tilt mechanisms to the tabletop first. (The instructions state to attach the 2 front brackets, part M, before the tilt mechanisms)
5. Connect one tilt mechanism to the tabletop using bolts provided.
6. Push or pull the second tilt mechanism into alignment with the other set of holes and secure with the bolts. The "play" in the structure should provide plenty of lateral movement to bring the holes into alignment.
7. If there still is not enough "play" to align the second tilt mechanism with the holes, try loosening the nuts that hold the tilt mechanism to the side frame. (nut T for the Original CraftMaster and nut S for the CraftMaster II) This will provide additional "play." Lastly, if you're still having trouble, try removing the upper front crossbar completely to provide even more "play."
8. Once both tilt mechanisms are attached, align the tabletop brackets (part M) with the pre-drilled holes and secure with screws provided.
9. With the tilt mechanisms and tabletop brackets attached, go back and retighten all the crossbar bolts and nuts as necessary.
